What is the Driver CPC?
The Driver CPC is the biggest change to the road transport industry since LGV and PCV driving tests were introduced. From September 2008 the Driver CPC is being introduced across the EU in order to improve road safety and maintain high driving standards.
All PCV and LGV drivers must hold a Driver CPC if they want to be employed as a driver. This will mean that all drivers will need a minimum of 35 hours “periodic training” every 5 years, which effectively works out as one 7 hour day per year. This training requires that drivers attend approved courses but does not involve exams or tests.
What are the benefits to your business?
The Driver CPC syllabus is designed to confirm and expand drivers existing knowledge. The subjects covered range from fuel efficient driving techniques to health and safety issues. The courses will make your drivers drive more safely, help them save fuel therefore saving you money, enable them to keep up to date with regulations and enhance their professionalism. You will also be fulfilling your legal requirements.
